July 2026 - A quick update on the playground project - and how far we’ve come.

Serious fundraising for the new playground didn’t begin until spring 2025, after a small group of parents completed the long, required process of forming a legal nonprofit. In just a little over one year, our community has raised $170,000 toward a safe, accessible, new playground for Miller Hill.

We know many families wish this could be funded directly by the school and we feel that too. But, with our district chronically underfunded by the state, and recent capital projects focused on essential repairs like roofs, boilers, and paving, there is no short‑term path for playground funding. At the same time, our playground is in critical condition, and waiting years for a capital project would not meet the needs of our students today.

We’re proud of the momentum we’ve built, and we still have a gap to close. Community support remains essential to bringing this project across the finish line.
